Even though I’m from the United States. - or perhaps because of that fact - I strive to make sure this newsletter is never too American-centric.
I’ll cover major events in the bilateral relationship, of course - President Biden’s 2023 visit and the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership upgrade being the most significant example - but the U.S. takes up so much global media oxygen that I’d rather not contribute to that.
Today, as we’re all surely tired of hearing, is another big, dread-inducing moment for the U.S. I’ve turned off notifications for the news apps on my phone and just want the election to be over with, but it’s worth looking at how this is being covered and perceived by Vietnamese media.
