Good afternoon! Welcome to the latest subscriber-only edition of the Vietnam Weekly. Barring some unforeseen development on another topic, I’ve decided that the next few of these will be devoted to ongoing and new corruption or graft cases. These are becoming increasingly complex, and too sprawling to be contained in the Friday recaps, which I try to keep relatively brief.

You can subscribe to receive future exclusive newsletter editions and read all past ones for US$5/month or US$50/year below.

Here we go.

As the anti-corruption campaign carries on full steam ahead, there is an embarrassment of riches when it comes stories these days, though all of these cases have plenty of unanswered questions. In this edition, I’ll discuss two scandals that have been featured here before - FLC Group and the repatriation flights - and one major corporation that is not publicly in trouble, and is actively fighting to prove that it is not, even as signals point to it potentially being next in line.
